For more than 25 years, Sequoia Environmental Compliance Counsel has helped California pesticide and adjuvant registrants navigate container recycling requirements with confidence. We combine regulatory knowledge with hands-on recycling services to provide a comprehensive solution—from compliance support and reporting to the collection and responsible recycling of plastic agricultural containers.

Our work is built on relationships. We collaborate with the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, County Agricultural Commissioners, growers, agricultural organizations, registrants, and industry partners throughout the state. By bringing these groups together, Sequoia helps simplify compliance while creating practical recycling solutions that serve California agriculture and protect our environment.

David Lawson

Co-Owner

David K. Lawson is the Founder and Manager of Sequoia Environmental Compliance Counsel, a specialized environmental compliance practice serving California’s agricultural sector. With decades of experience in field product development, regulatory affairs, and industry engagement, David advises agricultural stakeholders on pesticide container recycling requirements and practical strategies for responsible material recovery.

Through Sequoia, David works with agricultural product companies, recyclers, and regulatory agencies to turn regulatory expectations into field-ready compliance programs. His work strengthens accountability, supports environmental stewardship, and helps expand market opportunities for reusable products made from recovered agricultural plastics.

Kyle Lawson

Co-Owner

Kyle oversees the day-to-day operations of Sequoia Environmental Compliance Counsel, working across client services, regulatory compliance, recycling operations, business development, and industry partnerships. He works directly with clients to understand their compliance needs, develop service agreements, coordinate recycling programs and events, and build the long-term relationships that are central to Sequoia’s work.

With a hands-on approach, Kyle manages collection logistics, field operations, client-specific projects, compliance documentation, contracting, customer support, and outreach.

He also works closely with growers, agricultural organizations, industry partners, County Agricultural Commissioners, and regulatory professionals to develop partnerships, cross-promote recycling opportunities, and expand access to responsible agricultural plastic recycling throughout California.
